I'm new, One of my friends who's been here for about a year brought me around. I've been Rping on LoTGD sites for years but this is my first time posting in an actual forum setting. I have a couple of questions to start out..

1. I see a lot of people saying that this place has gotten quite dead recently, I'm wondering if this is the case? or if there are still a lot of people around

2. I am wondering what the rules about posting are? Ie: Is there a PG limit? or PG13, R, Etc. Some of the stuff I write, being a Vampire, is very violent, and other times very sensual or sexual. I'm curious as to the actual rules or limits when it comes to posting. I've been perusing the forums for a few hours now, through the, about, to the help, to the standards as well as all through the forums, and still I've not found anything that could answer my questions or at least this one Tongue So Here I'm asking it Smiley What are the rules about posting such as Sexual themes, Violence, and all that good stuff?

I actually found the post with the full rules on it once upon a time, but I can't find it right now to save my life.

I more or less got on the sax and violins topic that you fade to black before it gets pornographic, and I don't recall on the violence.

It always gets dead-ish around major holidays and end of school terms when people are studying madly for tests. It tends to pick up afterwards. It never really goes away all the way Smiley

As to rating. Pretty much PG-13, although violence can edge forward into R IF handled very carefully.

When checking out stories, be sure to watch for Active stories. There are a lot that are not still active.

How can you tell if a site is active?

Thanks.

When you search for stories, you'll see two boxes that can be ticked: "Active" and "Open".  "Active" means there have been posts in a certain amount of days (not sure how many, but all the ones on the current list have been updated in the last few days).  There are a lot of dead stories or those on hiatus floating around, so it's important to look at the date of the last post when considering a story.

"Open" means that the SC is actively seeking new cast members.  Sometimes, stories that do not have a "Join the Cast" option will still consider taking new players.  It's a good idea to send a polite pm to the SC if you are interested in a closed story, for they might be able to accommodate you.  Never hurts to try! Smiley

Good luck!

It's true that the forums tend to be more dead than the site...

I'm an Admin who doesn't come to the Forums as often as I should. Yikes. The site is small, it certainly doesn't have as many active participants as some other sites. I choose StoryCrafter because of the way the individual story sites feel very homey and comfortable, not like I'm on a messageboard. I also have found a small group of writers I love to write with so it's home! Smiley

Hi

I have been away for several years. I just decided to try again.

This site has become very quiet with many stories and posts being years old too.

I do remember the whole site being down at one time or another.

I think the best thing to do is advertise. Use boards and online games to spread the word. Also think about adding your own stories to get this place kicking again.
