I'm currently considering throwing my hat back into the ring to run a sci fi story. However, the twist would be that the submitted character would actually be an amalgam:

Each player would play as the CREW of a single vessel. To begin with, a small group, like traders or bounty hunters. The setting would be a backwater system: a moon, space station, colony and asteroid belt. This would ensure that the action is kept focussed, the character list left uncluttered and allow people to post in multiple threads (if docked at a station, for eg)

There would be a small central and underlying plot, but it i am reticent about going too far into freetown
And too far down a linear plot.

Basic characters would e ableto upgrade their ship (a basic numerical game, trading, Missions etc), but combat would be primarily rp driven with admin oversight and dice rolls for risky tactics.

The rules need a think through, butthe core concept (limited aliens, an entire vessel, etc) would that appeal to anyone?
