3 ideas I had in regards to the tabs along the top of a story's page:

[HOME][PROLOGUE][RULES][CAST][JOIN THE CAST!][OPTIONS][PUBLISH]

1)  I would like to, one day, have the ability to rename these tabs; there are times that "prologue" and "rules" don't necessarily fit my needs or describe what exactly I'm using those spaces for.

2)  In addition, I could see how having the ability to modify the page layout within tabs like "prologue" and "rules" could prove helpful; changing alignments, adding and arranging separate boxes, etc. -- independently from the modifications allowed currently via a custom template.

3) The ability for users/admins to create NEW tabs would also greatly enhance an SC's control over his/her story's layout and the distribution of information therein.  For example, SC's could create a new page titled "About the Author(s)" and fill it appropriately (even if the page layout wasn't modifiable but it simply created another editable box like the "prologue" or "rules" pages;  Or an SC might create a "MAP" tab, and feature a world map image under that particular heading.  Other SC's might see a need for a "The Story So Far" tab or a "History" tab; any number of possibilities that would allow SC's to shift certain details away from the space for ACTS/THREADS, which should be more INTERACTIVE STORY/PLAY focused, and thus allow for a cleaner overall appearance to how a story and its details are displayed.

Can a person do that with the Customize option and in HTML, if so inclined?

If not, wouldn't that be the best 'place' for it?

As far as I've been able to tell, they can't be changed.  There WAS a game on here, years ago, that DID modify them; made quite a few modifications to storycrafter.com's code (within the framework of their own game title, anyway), if I recall correctly.  And the game was Samara's Panacea, if I'm not mistaken.  I remember their being a "character creation" tab, in which I believe (not 100% certain) that there was actually a built-in, modifiable "template" that cast members could generate character sheets that would be associated with their characters.  Again, I'm not 100% positive, but I remember the title doing a LOT of funky stuff.

Funky stuff that I think, at least in some small way, either was or could have potentially been very harmful to storycrafter.com as a whole -- because before I knew it, the extra elements were gone, and I think the story went away, too -- died like many others -- which was a shame, because it was one of the most professional-looking titles I had seen on here, and opened my eyes to the potential uses a website like storycrafter offered the aspiring writer/collaborative storyteller.

Similar elements would eventually come along via the Founder, such as the customizable templates -- which have now been pushed even further with the release of "All Your Base" -- but, at least at this time, I have no idea how to override the base code of the website that plugs in the titles "prologue", "rules", etc.

Not that I'm looking to change the origin points where those pages are pulled from; just to able to change the "name" of the tab itself.  Other details like being able to modify the layouts of each of those pages might be too complicated/messy.

So could allowing the links to be renamed, for that matter.
