In the last two week,I have had three stories fall apart on me,This has got to be some sort of record.Tooth and Claw went because the SC is a kid that had neglet ed his homework,Majestic 13,the SC on that one did not even have the courtesy to tell us he or she was stopping the story(Loser!) and now one that had not even started yet just disappears without so much as a by your leave, from the SC(Loser II)
I apologize for this rant and rave, not my usual style, but perhaps in some small way it may wake up a few that are thinking of starting a story. We the players take out time and put alot of thought into our posts. Please be serious before you start a  story. It is a commitment.

An all-too common occurance in PBP gaming, I fear, though not usually with three falling apart on someone in two weeks.

I'm sorry to hear, Casca.  Very frustrating.

I feel sorry for you, and feel your pain.

Unfortunately, a lot of people begin games without realising the amount of work that goes into maintaining them. Either that, or they lose enthusiasm in the subject and drop out. Or perhaps they didn't think any further than the Prologue or intial concept, and suddenly they have a whole group of writers to entertain and don't know what to do. One of my stories ended half way through due real life circumstances, and so I'm not entirely blameless here myself.

But don't give up!

There ARE good SC’s on this site if you can find them. Alternatively, why not start up your own story? Or see if one of the writers from one of the stories which ended suddenly wants to co-GM with you?

You have my sympathy as well, from someone who has put a couple months of work into a complex character and a story that seems quite worthy just to suddenly stop for no reason and with no explanation, after about three rounds of posting. Or after three strong weeks of attention.

Trust me, my friend, we have all been there and it's never any fun. But you do grow resigned to it. Or you stop trying.

However, when something DOES come together--that IS the point. And it's worth it!

Absolutely!  I've had the fortune of being in several of these.  Now granted, a lot of them have the same batch of writers as well, so no wonder they've weathered the storm. Smiley

Frustrating, yes, but hang in there.  You never know, that story might be just around the corner. Smiley
