So I'm trying to get a friend started on this site...and he hasn't gotten the e-mail.  Several hours later.  When I signed up, I got not only the initial e-mail, but the password reminder I sent as a test, within seconds of sending the request.  But my friend's e-mails seem to have been lost to the mists of time, as none of them (the initial, and not one, but two "forgot my password" e-mails) seem to make it to his e-mail inbox, or the junk folder, either.  Any idea what might be happening?

I’m new and know next to nothing about the intricacies of the system here. However, does his net service provider have their own spam filter for email messages? Mine has a “gray mail” feature that I have to go and check directly for some messages wrongly flagged as spam…

He already checked his spam filter...no dice there, either.

Perhaps its one of those glit --- er --- special features that StoryCrafter has from time to time ...

Is anyone else having any trouble getting an automated response when trying to change your password or sign up?.

I recently had to call Paypal and have them send me an email that worked because the hyperlink was dead in the emails that I kept getting when I needed to change my forgotten password ...

Perhaps someone could try to ask for a password retrieval and/ or do  a testsign up from your yahoo, hotmail, etc accounts

wondering if StoryCrafter has somehow been set to ignore a certain email provider ... unlikely but could have happened

Just tested it. The system works as expected, the problem is with his email service or filters, or some server between ours and his. Just have him try again I suppose.
