So...I am new here and very excited about the prospects of this site!  But there is one trend I noticed with stories starting with a bang and usually fizzling in a week or two.  Now, usually this is because of the SC dropping off the face of the planet...is this common?

Its a common trend with online games in general and (for some unfathomable reason) SC in particular. People disappear.

Sometimes its the SC. Even if they write that they already have a plan in mind or that they won't run without at least a notice that, unfortunately, is still not a guarantuee that they won't vanish. *mini sigh*

However, the same goes for players! However excited they are, I think every SC on this site had the problem of people just about disappearing in one of their stories at least once. I don't want to jinx anything, but you should be prepared to possibly add new cast members in the middle of a story because too many people dropped out and you need a replacement - just in case. Just, well, because if you are not, you might have your heart broken and think its all your fault. Believe me, its usually not. Wink The only thing you can do as a player or storycrafter is try, try again.

note: I am not stalking you *hides*

That's it in a nutshell.  It's an epidemic in all online gaming - people (either SC's or players) showing up, starting enthusiastically...then vanishing, without so much as a 'by your leave'.

Hate it.  Expect it.  Be prepared for it.  Sad

I do expect it, true.  Just a bit discouraging I guess.  At any rate Shanna, maybe you should join our story!  We aren't going anywhere, anytime soon!  Wink

Thank you for the offer!

I'm rather full-up at the moment, though.  Sad
