http://www.storycrafter.com/story/act/read.php?storyid=4692&actid=19255

This is the beginning of a novel that a friend of mine and myself will seek to get published upon completion. For the time being, we should very much appreciate any critiques and feedback that might be offered by the SC community. You may leave notes for us either on these forums, or should you so desire, I can add you to the sub-forum (for lack of a better name) on SC where we are currently working. While we will keep certain areas of the sub-forum away from prying eyes for the moment once we have completed the entire novel we will open up everything and allow the community to see the route we took in writing what we hope to get published, as well as offering small tidbits and teasers for the plot and events in sequels as we plan on breaking down the plot we've worked into at least a pair of novels at this point, if not a trilogy.

If you do take the time to read everything that we have written so far please know that we will take all feedback under consideration at the very least and that we do appreciate it. Also understand the following:

1. This story is set in a completely unique high fantasy universe(as much as any fantasy universe really can be). We understand that any readers may have questions concerning some of the races we've created (among other things) and we would be more than happy to answer those questions to allow for a greater understanding of the world itself. Please understand though that, at this point, we haven't even completely mapped out the world in which the story takes place, rather we've mapped out parts of it.
2. The story is already very long, nearly 12,500 words. In more layman's terms thats about 21.5 pages in 12 pt font on MS Word.
3. Only the Prologue is in what we're hoping to consider to be a final draft form, and even then that doesn't mean that it might not still be further edited. Chapters 1-3 are still in rough draft form and have not been edited at all, and chapter 3 has not even had it's rough draft completed yet.
4. Please don't think that we're ending the story at 3 chapters, we've already mapped out eight of the chapters of the novel and there will be many more than eight.

I know that looks and sounds like a lot, and some people have probably stopped reading this note long before they reached this part. But, if you're still reading then thank you for taking the time to do so and we hope you'll at least take the time to read what we have written so far and offer your input because, once again, we value all viewpoints even if we're not going to let anyone beyond the two of us handle the actual writing of the story.

A very ambitious endeaver, there! Smiley

I have a few concerns (NOT about the story, itself.) It's a risky thing to put something you intend to publish on the net where it's very public. You don't who's reading it.

I would point you to our Terms of Service ( http://www.storycrafter.com/main/terms.php ) and specifically a link contained therein ( http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/ ).

This a site for non-commercial interactive writing. We don't want any problems with any possible disputes further on down the path so we really need you to remove your story to another location. We'll look to have it removed within the week, thank you.

I do apologize because I know you've put a lot of work into your story here. But remember, it's for your own safety, as well.

We wish you the best of luck!

Alright, it can be deleted at the leisure of the mods, I've moved over and saved all that needs saving.

That was very fast! Again, the best of luck to the two of you and getting that story published! Smiley

Thanks, we didn't really have a super huge amount to transfer over, it was mostly a quick and easy copy and paste into e-mail for the time being.
