The Google ads are considered "smart" ads.  They update the lists that appear on each page based on some algorithm that scans the contents of the posts for keywords.

In one story, we experimented in the OOC, mentioning "cheese" again and again.  It took a couple of days, but now we have links to cheese vendors.

Unfortunately, for every set of ads that we find amusing, there's another set we find offensive.  We engage in fiction on topics that we DON'T pursue in real life.  We don't need links to pages about murder, incest, or clergy molestations, but Google doesn't know any better.

I have plenty of ads popping up advertising verious "Bereavement" products: Conveniently placed right where the players are searching the corpses of scavengers they just killed for weapons and money.

Yep, sounds like Grief to me.

Personal Favorite- Save-Creatures Zoo.

My favorite line- 1000's of enemies to defeat and 1000's of items to get.

Gotta love badly written advertisement...or, would it be badly translated English?

"Put thousands of enemies and items."

"Right. One thousands of enemies and one thousands of items."

I once got an add that said:
"Pregnant and scared?"

I was so confused.

I keep seeing ads for Russian mail-order brides...Presumably because of two players who are mafia (one russian mafia.) and their businesses naturally touch on prostitution.

Pregnant and scared is not all that odd, is it?
I mean...
If I would get pregnant right now, I would be really scared!!!
Mostly because I don't have a male companion at this time...
