Helloooooooooo.

I was wondering if there is any interest in a Dark Tower story here on SC? The Dark Tower is a wonderful series of books by the equally wonderful (if somewhat strange looking) Stephen King revolving around the last knight (a gunslinger) journeying towards the mythical Dark Tower where all worlds collide. During his travel, he draws several people from our world to aid him in the quest. The world he lives in is quite different from our own, yet it bears striking similarities to it. Politically organized along the lines of a feudal society, it shares technological and social characteristics with the American Old West, as well as bearing magical powers and the relics of a highly advanced, but long vanished, society.

Truth be told, I'm not 100% sure how the story would work and am looking for some ideas from others who have read the books. Would it be a new group searching for the tower and would it be set before Roland's quest?

At the point, I'm just thinking about the story and could do with some advice and maybe a few people saying 'Yes, I might be interested'.

But *is* there a time before or after Roland's quest?

Wink

But seriously, I don't see a problem with other gunslingers on the same quest.

'There are other worlds than these,' afterall.

See my tag; yes, possible interest here.

Not sure if this idea is still valid as only one other has registered their interest but I will step up and say that this interests me. I'm currently on the third book in this series (I've been reading them each morning during my 30 minute trip on the underground to work) but it's a great story and could make a fantastic story here in the correct hands.

I'm not sure if there is still any interest in this, but I would absolutely LOVE to see a DT story here!  I'm a huge fan of the books, and I think the 'world' in itself is interesting enough to justify creating a story.  It doesn't even have to be about Roland specifically.

Anyways, throwing in my vote way late here, but if it were to happen, count me in as well!
