Recently I was sent a Private Message by someone I wasn't playing with and when I tried to answer it whilst looking at my game, I was only given the option of replying to characters in my game.

The only way I could reply to that person was replying to it whilst looking at the main page.

If this has been covered elsewhere, I appologize.

The way Storycrafter is working right now.

The only way to send a message to a particular person in a story is from the main page or whatever of that particular story.

The only successful way to reply to ANY message is from your own Storycrafter main page.  IF you try to reply to any message even from inside the Story that person is in, it will be shuffled to the Storycrafter of that story every time.

So at the moment, it's easiest to get into the habit of reading and replying to ALL messages from your main Storycrafter page, and send messages to ANYONE initially from the game the person you are contacting is in.

Once you get used to handling your messages from the correct location, it's pretty simple.

My crew has been having gobs of issues with this lately, so you're not alone.  They're always sending me messages for their cowriters in other stories.

Merz is right.  If the name isn't from a name in a story you're looking at, you won't be able to reply to them unless you go out to the main Storycrafter page and go to your messages from there.

And even then, you have to doublecheck both the name of the person you're replying to, and the name it brings up for you.  It's liable to pick whatever name of yours it wants unless you change it  A problem if you don't want the person to know your alter egos. Smiley
