I just checked my inbox from  a game I'm running ...

I received an application for said game ... and once I read the application I decided I wanted to contact the player in question rather than just deny out of hand, seemingly and/ or accept and/ or ask for changes to the character .

To my chagrin there is no way to contact a player who is not a part of my game from my inbox ...

I once could reply to a person who had applied to a game via the SC mail system and just now I couldn't .. is this a glitch or has this feature been disabled?

Try this, Puma.  Access the message from your home page, and you should be able to reply from there.  Don't do it from inside any story page.
