This topic might be better placed in the Storycrafter Chat board as it mostly concerns general things, but I don't see why I shouldn't give you my input.

If you're looking for an established story, currently the best way to find one is to click on one of the links on the main page to browse the story lists and go from there. You could browse all the stories or just those in particular catagories. The most recently active stories will be the ones at the top of the list. You can look for one that interests you and is casting. Depending on the Storycrafter, occasionally it's possible to get into stories that don't have the "now casting" link, so it's worth asking if something particularly intrigues you.

I do see stories that would seem to fit your description fairly often on the main page as games start, so you should be able to find something eventually.

Good luck and welcome to the site.

I wouldn't worry about it, castlemage.  That was just advice, not a rebuke.

What you asked for here was really what everyone on the site is looking for.  You could have asked for World Peace or a winning lottery ticket.

If you're looking to find an active game, the best way to do that at the moment is to go to the Current Stories lists, and go category-by-category.  Once the Last Update date is more than a week or two old, you're DONE in that category.  There might be 8 more pages of listings, but you're *DONE*.  Trust me.

Relax.  We're all friends here.  Poke around, and you'll find what you're looking for.

Well, maybe.  World peace is elusive, but occasionally people *do* win the lottery.  Wink

Happy hunting.

Sorry if it came off wrong  -- as argyle suggested, that was intended as advice rather than a rebuke.

I hope you find what you're looking for one way or another. If I run across one, I'll let you know, but that type of story isn't my main interest so I make no guarantees.

If I might ask, how do you feel about philosophical science fiction?

The implementation of the thoughts and ideas in the story are a bit difficult to explain. They aren't drawn toward melodrauma, and I'm really hoping they don't ever become drawn to that. The philosophy is a lot more subtle and hidden, like "M. Knight Shamlan's, Signs" but less corney. more toward the way "Ghost in the Shell" puts it. I was also fortnate enough to end up with a really good cast.
