While viewing a story I can't reply to messages from characters or SC IDs that are not in that story. My hunch is that this is the same problem as was just mentioned in regards to story applicants since I have no problems replying from the main page.

I'm trying to see what the problem is. This is what I did to try to recreate your problem.

I was in one story, went into my message center, chose an email from someone who is not in that story, and replied to them.

My reply went through. Yours did not?

Is the above what you were doing?

Yes, that's what I did. I just tried again, and the name defaults to the storycrafter's name. I didn't actually try sending it since I thought it unlikely it would work. Is it conceivable that you being a mod could make a difference?

Perhaps we could get someone who isn't an admin to try this out...

Same problem here.  Only when you're in your 'default' message box can you send to anyone.  When you're at a story page, you can only send to someone in the story.

Also, the previous trick of using the PMs to find out the SC ID of people on the site (Send a blank message to the player ID, and the page returns the SC ID) doesn't work anymore.

We know.  It's been a few days, and a few discussions since.  Soon that trick won't be needed.
